Project Scope

• Upgrade all lighting to LED at five high schools in Summer 2025
• Upgrade all lighting at six middle schools, alternative high school, and three elementary schools in 2026
• All incentives were paid directly to ROI Energy at the conclusion of the project, allowing SMSD to manage their budget without the need to await $1.7 million in reimbursements
• ROI Energy was selected over 12 other vendors due to cost effectiveness, experience, and approach
• Complete all projects on turnkey basis
• Install 17,000 recessed LED panels
• Replace 11,000 surface-mount fixtures with strips and wraps
• Upgrade more than 800 high-bay fixtures to LEDs
• Replace over 1,000 exterior fixtures
• Add dimming capabilities in 800 classrooms
• Deliver project on budget and on schedule
• Obtain nearly $1.7 million in utility incentives
• Final phase planned to upgrade 16 elementary schools in 2027
